Model how a collateral price change affects a loan while debt and the entered weighted liquidation threshold stay fixed.
How the calculation works
Health factor = collateral value × liquidation threshold ÷ debt value. Collateral value at health factor 1 = debt ÷ liquidation threshold.
Worked example
Example: collateral of 10,000 with an 80% threshold and debt of 6,000 has a health factor of 1.333333. A 25% collateral decline brings this model to 1.
How to use the result
For several collateral assets, the threshold must be weighted by their values. A multi-asset loan can reach liquidation through many price combinations.
The price-move result is the proportional collateral change needed to reach a health factor of 1 under fixed debt. Zero entered debt produces a No debt result.
What this result leaves out
- No wallet or protocol account is read. Interest, oracle changes, eMode, collateral correlation, penalties and parameter updates are excluded.
- A health factor above 1 is not a promise of safety. Verify the actual protocol position and rules.
