Crypto average buy price calculator

Combine purchases and fees into one average cost per token.

Your inputs

Values stay in this page. Use the units shown beside each field.

Start with quantity, price, fee on its own line. Add 1 to 100 unquoted data rows. Use decimal points and enter 0 for a fee-free purchase. Every row must refer to the same token and quote currency.

Result

Enter your values, then calculate. You can also load the worked example.

Your result will appear here.

Paste purchase rows for one token to calculate a weighted average. Enter the fee as a fixed amount in the same quote currency as the prices.

How the calculation works

Weighted fill price = sum(quantity × price) ÷ sum(quantity). Fee-inclusive average cost = [sum(quantity × price) + sum(fees)] ÷ sum(quantity).

Worked example

Example: one token at 100 and two at 130 cost 360 before fees. Three tokens have a weighted fill price of 120.

How to use the result

The required columns are quantity, price and fee, in that order. Keep the header exactly as shown. Quoted cells, thousands separators and blank rows are not supported.

The fee-free fill price and fee-inclusive average answer different questions. The latter spreads the entered purchase fees across the total token amount.

What this result leaves out

  • Purchases only. Sales, transfers, token-denominated fees and acquired rewards are outside this input format.
  • This simple purchase average does not determine a jurisdiction's tax basis or select an accounting method.
