Calculate one linear vesting schedule with release blocked until a cliff. Tokens accrue from the start date and accumulated tokens become available at the cliff.
How the calculation works
Before the cliff, vested for release is zero. After the cliff, vested = allocation × elapsed time ÷ total duration, capped at the allocation. Available = vested - entered claims.
Worked example
Example: 1,000 tokens over 100 days with a cliff on day 20 give zero available before the cliff, 200 at day 20 and 500 at day 50, before claims.
How to use the result
The cliff gates release but does not move the accrual start. A schedule that starts accruing only after the cliff needs a different model.
The dates use UTC midnight and elapsed calendar days. A leap day contributes one day. Claims reduce available tokens without changing the total vested.
What this result leaves out
- Actual contracts may round to integer token units, release in monthly steps or use different schedules.
- No wallet, contract, token unlock feed or entitlement is checked.
